these pictures, but this is a case of a dog in severe need of assistance.
This dog was spotted @ the junction of 62/356, she was finally found the next night by a rescuer. She is one of the more severe cases we have seen. She is starving & had 200 ticks. About 100 ticks were pulled off over 2 days, but there were that many more. She was taken to a home, bathed, fed & watered her, & they pulled ticks & pulled ticks & pulled ticks...all sizes. Gross, sorry.
She was taken to Leota Animal Rescue to be rehabilitated & have her babies. She was being re-fed slowly, to get her digestive system used to food. That requires a special diet.
Sable Rose had ELEVEN puppies four days later!
The smallest one weighed 6 ounces, the largest 11 ounces.
If anyone would like to donate ANY amount for her rehabilitation & care, please give. Sable Rose will require veterinary care, vaccinations, etc, & then there are all the puppies to feed, house & receive veterinary care & get spayed/neutered.
This dog is so pitiful, but has such a sweet gentle spirit...and those startling WHITE eyes make her pretty unique. She is friendly, but very submissive. She's 1 or 2 years old & it's hard telling how long she has been on her own looking for food.
All will be available for adoption from Leota Animal Rescue.
